Wash Gloves from MÖVE – Quality Made in Germany
Terry products from MÖVE are exclusively manufactured in Germany, Made in Germany – according to the highest German standards. The in-house production including logistics is located in Großschönau (Saxony), a place with a long tradition, as European princes already had precious damasks woven here in the Baroque period. In 1856, the first terry loom in Germany was put into operation in Großschönau, establishing an important center for terry weaving.
Today, MÖVE produces wash gloves and other high-quality terry products on 30 Jacquard looms. Unique in the industry: MÖVE employs 240 people and has a fully integrated production, meaning the entire manufacturing process—from warp production through weaving and dyeing to finishing—takes place in its own facility. Sustainability and environmental protection are given equal importance alongside modern production, the quality of our towels, and the expertise of our employees.
What Makes a Good Wash Glove?
A good wash glove is, of course, made from high-quality materials and is also crafted with great care. At MÖVE, this means that we use only the finest cotton or attractive material blends such as cotton/linen or cotton/viscose from bamboo cellulose. These are woven into fine terry cloth, giving them their characteristic surface with many loops. Depending on the weaving technique used, the appearance of the loops can be either smooth or take the form of a pearl or ribbed texture. A good wash glove not only impresses with a pleasant feel but also with beautiful details such as borders, inlays, or embroidery. And last but not least, a high-quality hanging cord should of course not be missing.
Which Wash Glove is Right for Me?
All MÖVE wash gloves are produced – with very few exceptions – in the practical size of 20 x 15 cm, making them suitable for all hand sizes. In addition to personal preference for color and design, the intended use is also decisive. For baby care and general body care, wash gloves made of soft cotton such as MÖVE SUPERWUSCHEL or MÖVE LOFT are recommended. For those who prefer an even softer touch, the MÖVE BAMBOO LUXE series made of cotton/viscose from bamboo cellulose is ideal. How Often Should You Change a Wash Glove?
The answer to this question is quite clear: ideally after each use, but at least daily. The reason is that a wash glove is usually applied wet. This makes it easy for germs and bacteria to multiply quickly. Often, the wash glove also has no chance to dry properly between uses, which does not make things easier. Conclusion: for health and hygiene, frequent and quick replacement is essential. It is therefore helpful to always have several wash gloves on hand. Either assembled from different collections yourself or by opting for one of our practical 10-piece sets.
