Sauna Kilts & Sarongs by MÖVE – Quality Made in Germany
Our MÖVE sauna kilts and sarongs are manufactured in Germany, Made in Germany – according to the highest German standards. The in-house production including logistics is located in Großschönau (Saxony), a place with a long tradition, where even in the Baroque period European princes had precious damasks woven. In 1856, the first terry weaving loom in Germany was put into operation in Großschönau, establishing an important centre for terry weaving.
Today, MÖVE produces high-quality terry products, including our sauna kilts and sarongs, on 30 Jacquard looms. Unique in the industry: MÖVE employs 240 staff and has a fully integrated production, meaning the entire manufacturing process – from warp preparation to weaving, dyeing, and finishing – takes place in its own facility. Sustainability and environmental protection are equally prioritized alongside modern production, the quality of our dressing gowns, and the know-how of our employees.
Which Textile is Best to Wear in the Sauna?
Anyone who enjoys going to the sauna will know the problem: how do I dress appropriately and comfortably in the sauna and between sessions? A bath towel or a larger towel could be a solution, but these don’t have practical buttons or loops to secure them. The result: things slip here and there, and instead of relaxing, you’re constantly adjusting the fabric.
An alternative could be a dressing gown – but unfortunately, this isn’t really the perfect companion in this situation either. Too long, too heavy, too bulky, too warm, too impractical to carry…
The Practical Solution: a MÖVE Sauna Kilt or Sarong
Perfect for the sauna are our MÖVE sauna kilts and sarongs. They are both casual and practical, and offer everything a textile should for a relaxed sauna experience.
But what exactly is meant by a kilt or sarong? Simply put: the short, skirt-like version for men is called a kilt, while the longer version for women is referred to as a sarong.
The sauna kilt is usually knee-length and, with adjustable press-studs at the waistband, fits all sizes. A patch pocket ensures small items like keys and coins can be easily stored. The kilt is worn around the hips.
The women’s model – the sauna sarong – is worn over the chest and is also adjusted to the correct size using press-studs. Naturally, a sarong is longer than a kilt and usually reaches mid-thigh. A patch pocket also provides practical added convenience.
All MÖVE kilts and sarongs are offered in one size. They fit women’s sizes 40–48 and men’s sizes 48–56.

Kilts and sarongs from the MÖVE EDEN collection, on the other hand, feature a mix of 80% natural cotton and 20% black linen, giving them a high-quality feel and elegant appearance.
