Buying Children's Towels: What You Should Know
We all want safe and harmless products, especially since children's and babies' skin is particularly sensitive. With textiles that come into direct contact with the skin, such as towels or bathrobes, you should ensure that no harmful substances are present. Fortunately, there are certifications you can rely on.
In the textile sector, the label OEKO-TEX® certifies not only the fabrics but also buttons, threads, and other materials used. The limits set for OEKO-TEX® are often stricter than legal requirements, though there are different classes. For textiles intended for babies, you should always choose Product Class 1: this class has the strictest requirements.
ALL textiles from MÖVE are manufactured to meet Product Class 1 standards. This makes them ideal for allergy sufferers, people with sensitive skin, as well as babies and toddlers.
Sizes of Children's Towels
Shower towels for adults usually measure 80 x 150 cm. They can be easily wrapped around the body and absorb a lot of water. However, this size is not suitable for children or babies – they would essentially "get lost" in them. Especially babies and toddlers do not dry themselves yet, and their bodies are much smaller. Therefore, square hooded towels measuring 85 x 85 cm are particularly popular, but regular towels in the size 50 x 100 cm are also practical.
Children's Towels with Hood
We lose most of our heat through the head, and since most babies and toddlers have little or no hair, hooded towels are a good choice. This way, you can wrap your little one warmly and snugly after a bath or swimming session and dry them off calmly. Washing Children's Towels Properly
Our MÖVE towels for children are made of pure cotton and can be easily washed at 60°C. A special detergent or additional hygiene rinse is not necessary. You should also avoid fabric softener. While it makes towels pleasantly soft, it simultaneously reduces their absorbency. If you like, you can put your children's towel in the dryer after washing. The fibers realign better due to the air intake than if it is dried hanging on a line.
