Bath rugs for your bathroom
A bath rug – also known as a shower mat – not only looks good, but is also useful and practical. On the one hand, it provides your feet with a soft and warm surface, which is particularly pleasant after a shower or bath. On the other hand, it helps prevent slipping on cold, smooth tiles – especially when they are wet. By placing several bath rugs in front of the washbasin, shower and bathtub, you can move comfortably from one mat to another without having to step onto the cold floor. Thanks to its compact size, a bath rug is especially well suited to smaller bathrooms. And last but not least: by choosing a bath rug that coordinates in colour with your towels, you can give your bathroom a fresh new look in an instant.
What materials are MÖVE bath rugs made from?
Most of our attractive MÖVE bath rugs are made from 100% cotton. This makes them particularly skin-friendly, hard-wearing and durable, while also allowing them to absorb a great deal of moisture. The differences lie in the way the cotton is processed, resulting in a variety of surface textures. For example, the MÖVE LOFT collection features soft chenille bands that create a textured surface and provide a gentle massage effect for your feet. A base made from soft terry loops offers an even fluffier feel and also impresses with beautiful details such as the woven-in MÖVE logo or decorative banded borders. Our MÖVE WELLNESS shower mat offers a special touch of indulgence, made from 85% cotton and 15% linen. This gives it a particularly natural, decorative look and a unique, distinctive feel.

What sizes are available and how do they differ from a bath mat?
When choosing the right bath rug, in addition to colour and personal taste, it is also important to consider the rest of your bathroom’s layout. To help you create the perfect setting, we offer two sizes: 50 x 70 cm and 50 x 80 cm. Both are especially suitable for smaller bathrooms and look particularly good in front of the washbasin or shower. It looks especially attractive when you combine several bath rugs in one colour to create a coordinated set. Matching guest towels, hand towels and bath towels from the same colour family will ensure a harmonious overall look in your bathroom.
Unlike a bath mat, a bath rug is significantly lighter and smaller. While a bath mat can weigh up to 2000 g/m² and measure up to 60 x 130 cm, a bath rug typically measures 50 x 70 cm or 50 x 80 cm and weighs an average of around 700 g/m².
Care tips: How to keep MÖVE bath rugs looking beautiful for longer
Most MÖVE bath rugs can be machine washed at 60°C without any problems. However, there are a few exceptions that require lower temperatures. Tumble drying is also generally suitable. It is important to always follow the care instructions provided on the label. If you want to be on the safe side, allow the bath rug to air dry on a drying rack.
