Home Spa: Relaxing in Your Own Bathroom
What does “home spa” mean?
A spa is a wellness oasis, often featuring pools or a sauna. The “home” refers to your own living space – wellness at home. And even if you do not have a pool in your garden, you can still relax and unwind in the comfort of your own home. In this article, we take a look at how to create the perfect home spa day.
By the way: with our home spa collections, you will be perfectly prepared for your spa day at home. Choose from the Wellness, Eden and Wellbeing ranges to find the right bath towels or bathrobes and enjoy many relaxing hours in your own bathroom.
A visit to the spa is all about relaxation and indulgence – in other words, wellness. Depending on your preferences, true relaxation may also include some activity. Perhaps you would like not only to lie in the bath or finally apply that long-overdue hair mask, but also to plan a yoga session or a jog?
What do you need for a spa day at home?
For a true sense of well-being in your home spa, you should have a bathrobe, several hand and bath towels, as well as comfortable slippers or flip-flops ready. Ideally, you have a bathroom with a bathtub, but even in the shower you can unwind with special shower gels.
In addition to more or less unusual spa gadgets such as a facial steamer or an infrared sauna for the sofa, these classics in particular can make your home spa day a truly enjoyable experience:
• Fluffy bathrobe
• Cosy, soft towels
• Bath pillow for a comfortable soak
• (Foldable) foot spa bath
• Scented candle or room fragrance
• Scalp massage brush or facial massage roller
• Exfoliating sponge or massage glove
• Bath additives such as bath bombs or bubble baths
• Hair turban
In our accessories, you will find many suitable items and further inspiration.
Baths, massages and treatments
At home, you might think massages or treatments are not possible – but they are. While mobile massage therapists do exist, they are not necessary for a relaxing home spa day. A dry massage using a massage brush can be just as soothing. This stimulates blood circulation in the skin and prepares it for nourishing skincare products afterwards.
A foot bath softens the skin and is the perfect preparation for a pedicure. You can also apply a nourishing mask to your hands or feet. These are now widely available in drugstores, along with sheet masks or eye pads. If you wish, you can prepare your skin beforehand with exfoliating scrubs.
If you like, you can finish off with a coat of nail polish.
The right playlist for relaxation
A truly enjoyable home spa day is also accompanied by the right sounds. Whether you prefer meditative music or simply want to play your favourite songs is entirely up to you. When using electrical devices in the bathroom, always ensure they are kept at a safe distance from the bath. Some speakers are specifically designed for use in humid environments, so you can enjoy relaxing sounds even while soaking in the tub.
