Double-face bedding: bedding with a reversible look

What is double-face bedding?

Double-face bedding refers to products where the front and back look different. The term comes from English and means “double face.” Both sides are considered “right sides,” but they do not have the same appearance.

These options are available for reversible bedding:

• Both sides are solid colors
• One side is solid, the other has a pattern, e.g. paisley or stripes
• Both sides are patterned

What are the advantages of reversible bedding?

When you choose bedding with a reversible design, one set gives you multiple ways to present it.

Often, both sides of double-face bedding are perfectly coordinated in color—for example, two shades of the same color, or a pattern that elegantly incorporates the color of the other side. This allows you to style the bedding differently so that either only one side is visible or—by folding the top edge—both sides can be shown.

With a matching pillow and duvet, you can also display both sides of the reversible bedding at the same time.

Materials used in double-face bedding

In principle, all materials suitable for standard bedding can also be used for double-face designs:

• Cotton / cotton satin
• Seersucker
• Jersey
• Percale
• Renforcé
• Silk
• Biber (flannel)
• Flannel
• Microfleece

In theory, it is also possible to use different materials on each side of double-face bedding.

Regardless of whether you have sensitive skin, you should ensure that bedding and other materials in direct contact with the skin do not contain harmful substances. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification makes this easy: if a product is certified, it guarantees that all materials used—including fabrics, zippers, and more—are free from harmful substances. Combining reversible bedding

If you like using more than one pillow, you might wonder whether double-face bedding is harder to combine than solid-colored sets. That doesn’t have to be the case: even with patterned designs on both sides, you can usually identify one or more dominant colors that help you choose additional pillows or pillowcases.
