Choosing Towels as a Gift with Care

If you would like to give towels as a gift at Christmas or on another occasion, there is a wide range to choose from. However, for the recipient’s sake, you should always opt for high-quality terry products. Also pay attention to their preferences – perhaps small guest towels are exactly the right choice this year? Or would a large bath or sauna towel be more suitable, perhaps paired with a wellness voucher?

When choosing colours or patterns, you can take your cue from the recipient’s interior style. In modern homes, graphic prints are often preferred to floral patterns, while bathrooms with a maritime feel can be perfectly complemented by light or dark blue textiles.

Wrapping Towels: Environmentally Friendly & Creative

Wrapping paper is a typical single-use product: it is folded, taped and arranged – and after unwrapping, it is usually scrunched up and thrown away. This short lifespan does not make the often coated paper particularly environmentally friendly. However, there are ecological alternatives; you can recognise these, for example, by the “Blue Angel” label. This label indicates that the wrapping paper is made from recycled paper. Some suppliers now also offer compostable wrapping paper.

However, you do not necessarily have to wrap towels in wrapping paper. Gift bags or organza pouches are practical, as they can be reused several times and can therefore continue to bring pleasure in the years to come. An attractive gift box is equally original and does not require any additional wrapping paper as outer packaging.

A Towel Gift Without Wrapping?

With terry gifts, perhaps packaging is not always necessary. Towels are soft and can therefore, with a little skill, be folded or arranged into unusual shapes. This makes the gift itself an eye-catcher and brings a smile to the recipient’s face.

Many napkin-folding techniques also work perfectly well for towels. In addition, with a few elastic bands, you can shape smaller towels into cute animals. The internet offers plenty of creative instructions – or you can get help and inspiration the traditional way from a book.

Using Towels as Gift Wrapping

You can also use towels themselves as sustainable gift wrapping. Tie a ribbon around them, and the additional gift is quickly and neatly wrapped in no time. This works well, for example, for smaller items such as chocolates or framed photographs, but larger gifts such as coffee-table books or a good bottle of wine also benefit from a fluffy covering that is itself part of the gift.
