Innovation and Technology at MÖVE
Since 1927, MÖVE has stood for premium quality – Made in Germany. However, traditional manufacturing does not mean outdated technology or even standing still. Although some of our collections – such as MÖVE SUPERWUSCHEL – have been part of our range for many years, we do not rest on proven classics. On the contrary: there are always new products to discover, and innovation and sustainability are also central aspects of MÖVE’s work in manufacturing.
Classic Production with Expertise
MÖVE’s company site is in Grossschönau in Upper Lusatia – this is where Germany’s first terry weaving loom was put into operation in 1856. Of course, those old looms are no longer in use today. Because although this tradition is an important part of our company history, the last few years and decades have brought exciting innovations that are indispensable for producing high-quality, durable towels, as well as bathrobes and bath mats.
Modern weaving machines are powerful and energy-efficient, and the same applies to our environmentally friendly dyeing facilities. Part of the energy required for the machines is generated by our solar installations and a combined heat and power plant – but none of this works without skilled employees with many years of experience. There is no low-cost production at the expense of employees or health at MÖVE – an aspect our customers value highly as well.
Modern Materials and Thoughtful Details
Traditional cotton terry is no longer the only material used to make towels and other terry products. Of course, cotton as a natural raw material remains indispensable – but there are innovations here too.
The voluminous high-tech Spinair yarn has a hollow fibre core, making it especially light and absorbent while still remaining fluffy. It is therefore ideal for our cosy MÖVE LOFT and MÖVE WELLNESS collections.
But cotton can also be wonderfully combined, for example with the cooling natural fibre linen or with viscose made from bamboo pulp. MÖVE uses these yarn blends, for example, for the MÖVE EDEN and MÖVE BROOKLYN ranges. This creates different collections for different needs: some towels dry more quickly, others are lighter, and others again are especially soft. But they all have one thing in common: outstanding quality and great attention to detail in the finishing.

Striking patterns at the beach, undyed cotton in the sauna … bath towels, shower towels and guest towels are not only meant to serve a purpose, but also to look good. That is why our classics are regularly expanded with new colours, while new collections with stylish, trend-led or unconventional patterns create real eye-catchers.
Together, our renowned in-house design team works to translate current trends and sought-after styles into terry, creating – for example with the MÖVE DENIM and MÖVE GENTLEMAN collections – trend collections that still do not look outdated after just one season.

Online shopping may no longer be particularly new, but opening up alternative sales channels is still an important point for us as a towel manufacturer. In our clearly organised online shop, even customers who do not have a store or department store with a premium segment nearby can purchase the full range of towels, bedding and accessories.
