Hanging up towels and letting them dry

Why towels should dry thoroughly

Especially with frequent use, it is important that towels can dry thoroughly again. This helps prevent bacteria and mold from spreading. In addition, you should wash your towels regularly. If they are used by several family members and never fully dry due to frequent use, you should change towels next to the sink daily.

How material affects drying

You can actually influence how quickly towels dry by choosing the right material. We recommend viscose made from bamboo pulp for fast drying, which also offers a beautiful sheen.

Microfiber towels also dry quickly, but they usually do not have a looped pile structure and are very thin. This less robust alternative is therefore better suited for travel rather than for home use.

Choosing materials that dry better and therefore only need to be changed every two to three days also has a positive impact on the environment.

Practical ways to hang towels

The larger the towels are, the harder it is for them to dry properly between uses. For standard hand or guest towels, hooks may be sufficient, but for bath or beach towels, you should consider other hanging options.

Radiators that double as towel rails are particularly practical. You can hang (usually smaller) towels over the pipes and benefit from faster drying.

You can also use the following for drying:

               • towel stands
               • holders that can be attached to the shower enclosure
               • wall-mounted towel rails

The range of materials and designs is very wide. Retractable clotheslines can also be practical indoor helpers to avoid drying wet towels over chairs or doors.

Dry towels indoors or outdoors?

Towels dry best outdoors when the air is dry and there is a light breeze—but in practice, this is not always possible. Guest towels and hand towels used regularly in the bathroom cannot simply be hung outside in between uses. To create the best possible indoor conditions for drying towels, you should ensure proper ventilation. When humid air can escape, the now drier room air can absorb moisture from the towels more effectively, allowing them to dry better.

With towels from MÖVE, you are choosing a durable and long-lasting solution that you can enjoy for many years. To keep them as fluffy and vibrant as on the first day, follow our proven care instructions.
