Why a rug in the bathroom makes sense

Cold tiles under your feet don’t bother you? A bathroom rug not only keeps your feet warm but also absorbs water and helps prevent slipping on a wet bathroom floor.  At the same time, a stylish bathroom rug adds a cozy atmosphere to the room.

In addition, the rug in the bathroom also absorbs dust, hair, and skin particles. Therefore, it is important not only to shake it out regularly but also to clean it thoroughly. The bath mat should be machine-washed once or twice a week to keep it hygienically clean.

How large should a bathroom rug be?

When choosing a bathroom rug, you can follow your personal preference. Do you prefer a continuous surface? Or is your bathroom particularly spacious? Then you can look for large bathroom rugs. What is a bathroom rug made of?

In most cases, our bathroom rugs are made of 100% cotton. This ensures high absorbency and makes them durable. At the same time, the rugs and shower mats are especially easy to care for and can be washed easily in the washing machine. For a particularly soft feel, we combine cotton with bamboo-derived viscose in the BAMBOO LUXE collection.

When it comes to the surface, you should consider whether you prefer a smooth and soft base or a rug with texture. Bath mats with a ribbed structure or rugs with a longer pile not only look different but also feel different under your feet.

Colors for bathroom rugs

Because many bathrooms feature neutral or single-colored tiles and walls, bathroom rugs—just like towels and other terry goods—are perfect for adding color accents and giving your bathroom a personal touch.

In small bathrooms, heavily patterned rugs can feel overwhelming. In such cases, it’s better to choose simple colors like white, beige, or grey—or add small touches of color, for example in pastel shades.
